Joel 2:25- I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter...
There are 4 different types of locusts mentioned here. They represent unique challenges, persistent struggles, severe devastations, and spiritual attacks that leave a path of destruction in our lives.
The Bible is clear we will all go through various trials and difficulties in this world. But we are to take heart and remember that God is with us and has already overcome the world. He has the ability to redeem and restore all that has been lost, and even multiply it.
During the process we can find ourselves in the middle of necessity and abundance, persecution and blessing, and trials and joy…waiting for the promises of God to come to pass.
You are not alone:
Abraham: Abraham’s story illuminates God’s faithfulness, though Abraham waited for decades, Isaac’s birth came as promised and released multi-generational blessings.
Romans 4:20-21-He did not waver in unbelief at God’s promises, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God because he was fully convinced that what God had promised, He was able to do.
Joseph: Joseph’s rise from betrayal and captivity to power and authority in Egypt, demonstrates how God uses trials for good to position His people for greatness.
Genesis 41:41-44- Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the entire land of Egypt.” Then Pharaoh removed his signet ring from his hand and placed it on Joseph’s finger. He dressed him in fine linen clothing and hung a gold chain around his neck. Then he had Joseph ride in the chariot reserved for his second-in-command. And wherever Joseph went, the command was shouted, “Kneel down!” So Pharaoh put Joseph in charge of all Egypt. And Pharaoh said to him, “I am Pharaoh, but no one will lift a hand or foot in the entire land of Egypt without your approval.”
Isaiah 61:7- Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.
Some examples of divine multiplication:
The Early Church (Acts 2: 41-47)
Job’s double portion (Job 42:10)
The Feeding of the 5,000 (John 6:1-14)
The widow’s oil (2 Kings 4:1-7)
Joseph’s promotion (Genesis 41: 37-57)
Naomi and Ruth (Ruth 4:13-17)
❤️ God’s restoration comes at just the right time and is rarely about returning to the former state, but looking forward to an abundant overflow. It's about increasing and multiplying for His glory. His redemption is thorough, and His sustaining power remains with us. Whether through material provision, spiritual outpouring or generational impact, God’s multiplication reflects His desire to do immeasurably more than we can ask, think or imagine. ~love u
