Have you ever found yourself in the middle of “nowhere”? Maybe on a hike, or on a road trip? Maybe visiting a new country?
What about a "spiritual nowhere”? These can look like many things, uncovering deep, vulnerable places of the heart, experiencing drought in relationships, scarcity in finances, or maybe you can’t even put your finger on it, but you feel alone…in your conviction, in your faith, in your journey? Asking the questions of how did I get here, and how do I get out of here?
If you have been or are in this place right now, I am writing to you! Be encouraged, you are made for this, not in and of yourself, but with God by your side.
Did you know even Jesus went through a “spiritual nowhere” a desert place AND He was led there by the Holy Spirit?
Matthew 4:1-Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
These places can feel like we are all alone, and you are in the middle of “nowhere” and will never get out. You can bet the enemy of our souls, the devil, would like nothing more than to let you continue to believe that lie. It is here our beliefs about God and ourselves are truly tried.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5-For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
Isn’t it interesting, this is exactly what the enemy did to Jesus in the desert. He tempted Him to think differently about God and Himself. Remember this was right after Jesus was baptized and the Father opened the heavens and said “This is My Son in Whom I am well pleased”. And Satan then questions and says “If you are the Son of God”...
I want to encourage you, if Jesus went through those desert moments, we too should expect the same at times. But remember He is with us always! He will bring us through and we will be stronger because of it. And even though it may look like a dry and scorched, and “deserted” land, we can be assured that there are “Desert Blooms” right around the corner.
Life emerging seemingly out of impossible places. In these moments, water is more than just a resource, it is the essence of life itself! As you journey through, God is with you. He is your shade and the LIVING WATER, that never runs dry!
Psalms 121:5-8-The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.
❤️ May this strengthen you in whatever place you are currently in, knowing, beyond a shadow of a doubt that God is with you and makes beautiful things bloom out of “nowhere”! ~love u.
